In Loving Memory
Remembering the foxes who are always part of this sanctuary
Some foxes stay with us for many years. Some are with us for a shorter time than we hoped. Every one of them matters. In Loving Memory is a place to honor the foxes who have passed, while keeping their names and stories close to the heart of Pawsitive Beginnings. Their lives were not defined only by where they came from. They were defined by who they became once they were safe. Here they were known. They were cared for. They were watched over in the small, daily ways that make sanctuary life real.
Louie
Louie is a male red fox that was born on a fur farm. He was born in spring of 2018. He was deemed undesirable by the farmer due to his ears being deformed and his fur not being perfect. Louie is a gentle boy that is very fearful due to his past. Louie receives routine deep ear cleanings due to his deformities to prevent yeast build up and possible infections. Louie arrived at Pawsitive Beginnings on May 3, 2020.
Care note: Louie enjoys quiet spaces. He suffered immense trauma during his time on the fur farm which has left him fearful. Louie's core needs are routine veterinary care for that trauma he sustained. You can help by making a donation to his care today. If you would like to learn about how you can help Louie by becoming a monthly sponsor, please use the contact form below.
Libby
Libby is a curious arctic fox who arrived at Pawsitive Beginnings from a captive-breeding situation. Her bio will appear here once we have time to write it properly. For now, please visit Louie's profile to learn how sanctuary care works.
Jasper
Jasper's story didn't begin with kindness. He was born on a fur farm and was ultimately deemed “useless” because he could no longer breed. For four years, he lived a life where his value was measured by what he could produce rather than who he was. But Jasper had other plans. On July 17, 2020, he came home to us and finally got the chance to simply be Jasper — gentle, sweet, quiet, and full of a softness that touched everyone who met him. He traded wire cages for soft ground beneath his feet, fear for safety, and survival for love.
After more than five beautiful years with us, we said goodbye to Jasper on November 23, 2025 after he lost mobility in his hind end. While our hearts still ache from missing him, we are endlessly grateful that his story didn't end where it began. His life became one of compassion, dignity, and second chances. If Jasper touched your heart, we invite you to honor his memory — or the memory of an animal who changed your life — by making a donation in their name. Tribute gifts help us continue providing rescued foxes with the lifetime care, safety, and love they deserve. Because every animal deserves a chance to be remembered not for how they suffered… but for how deeply they were loved.
